a new four- year cycle of the bilingual education programme begins in the 2025-26 academic year. the literacy-based approach to teaching english and the unique integration of british and spanish curricular content are the pilars of our programme and their implementation key to the programme’s quality and success. our training programme will focus on developing knowledge and confidence in appropriate methodologies for teaching and learning english in early years and primary as well as highlight learnings from our recent reviews and priorities for the academic year ahead. this course consists of two modules. the first module, lasting four hours, explains the current status of the bep project and where we are headed, as well as summarising our approach in early years and primary.the second module consists of an interactive, self-acess small private online course (spoc). there is a specific spoc for early childhood education and another for primary education. each lasts 9 hours and will cover the integrated approach as outlined in our most recent guidelines publications for each of the educational stages. each teacher must choose a single spoc or monograph, either for early childhood education or primary education which is most relevant to their current context.
